It?s all according to the Humanitarian buzz..

Former Haitian presidential candidate and Reggae artist Wyclef Jean, 41, was reportedly shot in the hand last Saturday in Port-au-Prince, Haiti on the night before the country?s presidential runoff elections. Wyclef?s rep, Cindy Tanenbaum, confirmed to E! and CNN that Wyclef was indeed shot. Below are the released statements.

?I have confirmed from Wyclef that he was immediately taken to the hospital, treated for a minor graze to his hand and released. Heis fine,? as published on E!.

As reported by CNN, Wyclef Jean was on his cell phone getting out of his car when he heard a boom and realized his hand had been grazed by a bullet, but spokeswoman Cindy Tanenbaum says ?the wound was superficial and he is doing well?.

Wyclef Jean?s rep also added, ?Wyclef?s commitment to his native country and to his people is unparalleled. He is therefore undeterred by this incident?.

No word on why the incident happened or if there was a possible gunman who may have targeted Wyclef Jean. According to CNN, Wyclef, who has been campaigning for musician Michel Martelly, refused to speak to the police about what happened.

It?s good to see a celebrity working hard to benefit others, but Port-au-Prince is a dangerous place. The people are living in dirt, starving and in survival mode. On Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations, Anthony offers the people food and it?s so sad! The younger boys lock hands to attempt to stay in line as they wait to be served, but the older boys begin to beat the younger boys with switches to make them get out of the line. Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations opens with a quote from a mother saying, ?I?m tired of people telling me to hold my baby to take my picture and nothing ever changes around here?.

Sean Penn is also a part of the Haitian Relief Organization. He?s been recognized for his work as the leader of a 55,000 person refugee camp in Petionville, a suburb of Haiti. -Also saw it on the Travel Channel?s Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations!
