(Philly) A passenger screener at Philadelphia International Airport is facing charges that he distributed more than 100 images of child pornography via Facebook, records show.

Federal agents also allege that Transportation Safety Administration Officer Thomas Gordon Jr. of Philadelphia, who routinely searched airline passengers, uploaded explicit pictures of young girls to an Internet site on which he also posted a photograph of himself in his TSA uniform.

Homeland Security agents arrested the TSA officer March 24, and he is being held without bail.

Although the case was unsealed Thursday, neither the indictment nor the news release mentioned Gordon's job searching airline passengers for TSA.

The arrest comes as TSA grapples with several other incidents involving screeners, including a YouTube video posted last week by parents angry about the pat-down their 6-year-old daughter received at an airport in New Orleans. TSA officials said the pat-down was proper; the parents said the girl was "groped."

Instrusive Pat Down on Children is NO Difference to Pedophilia

This child will never be the same again. Instrusive pat-downs on children is no difference to pedophilia. The scar from this experience will further damage the development of the child and the way she interacts socially. It doesn't matter pat-downs to children is procedural and necessary. There are other ways to screen a child without going through an invasive pat down. Touching a child is just plain wrong.

(ABCNEWS) The family of the 6-year-old girl who received a pat down at airport security in New Orleans said today there needs to be a different screening process for children.

"We struggle to teach our kids to protect themselves, to say 'no, it's not ok to touch me in this way in this area," the girl's mother, Selena Drexel, said. "Yet here we are saying it's ok for these people." If we don't find other ways we're making them more vulnerable, she said.

Drexel and her husband, Dr. Todd Drexel, of Bowling Green, Ky., appeared this morning in an exclusive interview with "Good Morning America."

A video of the couple's daughter going through the screening went viral on the Internet, getting thousands of views on sites like YouTube. It shows a TSA agent rubbing the young girl's inner thighs and running her fingers inside the top of the girl's blue jeans.

The Drexels said they stood powerless, watching as their daughter was patted down.

"I did ask for alternatives, I asked for her to be rescanned," Selena Drexel said. "They just refused and said they were going to do what they were going to do."

Selena Drexel said she could only speculate as to why the 6-year-old was selected for the pat down. She said that the TSA supervisor made it clear "non-verbally" that there would be trouble if she caused a fuss.

The girl's father said that while his daughter was polite and respectful during the screening, she broke down into tears afterwards.

Airline Passenger Found Not Guilty of All Charges From TSA Arrest

(Seattle Weekly) After an hour of deliberation Friday evening, a Bernalillo County, New Mexico jury found Phil Mocek not guilty of all four charges he faced after refusing to show his ID and using a video recorder at a TSA checkpoint in 2009. If you're keeping score at home, that's Mocek: 1, TSA: 0.

According to Edward Hasbrouck of the Identity Project, Mocek did not testify, and the defense rested on Friday without calling any witnesses or presenting any evidence. Hasbrouck attended the trial; he writes:

The jury found that even without rebuttal, the TSA and Albuquerque police had failed to satisfy their burden of proving any of the four charges: concealing his identity, refusing to obey a lawful order (it was never entirely clear whether this was supposed to have been an order to turn off his camera, an order to leave the airport despite having a valid ticket, or an order to show ID, none of which would have been lawful orders), trespassing, and disorderly conduct.

TSA Unable to Distinguish Between Sanitary Napkin and a Bomb

The incompetence of TSA has reached its pinnacle. If TSA can't distinguish a female sanitary napkin and a bomb, they are a bunch of idiots.

(Daily Mail) A female passenger has claimed that she was assaulted by TSA agents when she was ordered to be patted down because her sanitary towel showed up on the body scanner.

The woman was wearing a flannel panty liner, that evidently aroused suspicion, causing her to endure what she described as a ‘horrible’ experience.

Humiliated by her experience, the unidentified Army vet wrote to women’s health company Gladrags to detail what happened.

She said the invasive patdown was additionally humiliating because it brought back memories of a previously suffered sexual assault.

She wrote: ‘The TSA agents were doing their job, they were as delicate as they could be, etc., etc.

‘But what ultimately happened is that I was subjected to a search so invasive that I was left crying and dealing with memories that I thought had been dealt with years ago of prior sexual assaults.

Her email added: ‘Because of my flannel panty-liner. These new scans are so horrible that if you are wearing something unusual (like a piece of cloth on your panties) then you will be subjected to a search where a woman repeatedly has to check your ‘groin’ while another woman watches on (two in my case – they were training in a new girl – awesome)’.

The woman said that she was speaking out because she didn’t want another woman to face the same humiliation.

‘I just don’t want another woman to have to go through the ‘patting down’ because she didn’t know that her glad-rag would be a matter of national security.’

(Daily Mail) A German government minister has today revealed that a fake bomb found on an Air Berlin flight in Namibia was manufactured in the U.S. to test airport security.

It was not yet clear who had planted 'test suitcase', said German interior minister Thomas de Maziere, but the one fact they had established was that the device had been manufactured by a U.S. company that specialises in alarm systems.


The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) confirmed today that it was working with the German and Namibian authorities 'to determine the origin of the device and the reason it was being transported on the plane'.

The suitcase, which contained batteries connected to a detonator and a ticking clock, was intercepted by authorities at Windhoek airport on Wednesday night and sparked an international terror alert.

For every terrorist event, we put a band-aid and hope for the best. We took away box cutters after 9/11. We have to take our shoes off after the shoe bomber plot. Now, every single passenger must endure a body scanner or an invasive pat-down because TSA allowed the underwear bomber to get on board a plane. What next? I Will Let TSA Fondle My Junk If They Do The Same to Obama and His Family

A great opinion editorial from the Washington Examiner by a columnist whose family was recently fondled by TSA agents. Mark Hemingway said, "Since the TSA molested my family, why doesn’t Obama volunteer to subject his family to the same security procedures?"

Let's go one step further. Give the same treatment to Janet Napolitano, the US Senate and the US House of Representatives. Have each of them endure the humiliation and grief the American people have to go through. It only seems fair.

Homeland Security Lied to Us About Storage of Images, Health Safety, and High Resolution Revealing Everything

(Prison Planet.com) The Drudge Report today linked to a story by Gizmodo.com which highlights the fact that the TSA and Janet Napolitano’s assertion that the imaging machines cannot store, transmit or print images is not true.

The footage of images taken and stored by a full body imaging machine that have leaked online only tell part of the story as to why the machines constitute such a threat to privacy.

So clearly this story proves that the aforementioned claims of the TSA and Napolitano are outright lies, and that the American public therefore cannot trust the government’s pledge of privacy protection.

However, proponents of the technology may seize upon the fact that the leaked images show only fuzzy outlines of the people walking through the machines, thus bolstering an already debunked notion that the full body scanners do not show crisp detailed images of naked bodies.

“What’s the big deal here?” the wider public may be inclined to think after seeing the images.

It therefore should be reiterated that the leaked images are taken from a millimeter wave machine and not one of the x-ray backscatter machines. The two have roughly the same capabilities, but the majority of machines being implemented now in airports all over the country, and the world for that matter, are the more sophisticated backscatter devices, which produce images of a much higher resolution, revealing much more detail. As scientists have pointed out, these machines are also more of a health threat.

The group points to a further document (PDF) it has obtained from DHS showing that the machines used by the department’s TSA are not only able to record and store naked body images, but that they are mandated to do so.

It is impossible to believe anything coming from Janet Napolitano and the Department of Homeland Security. In order not to cause a public panic, Napolitano lied to the American pulblic. In reality, TSA do store the body scan images, the picture is of higher resolution, revealing more detail, and the machines are a health threat.

TSA: Religion offers no break on airport screening unless your a Muslim

(San Diego Union-Tribune) The Transportation Security Administration says airline passengers won't get out of body imaging screening or pat-downs based on their religious beliefs.

TSA chief John Pistole told the Senate Homeland Security Committee on Tuesday that passengers who refuse to go through a full-body scanner machine and reject a pat-down won't be allowed to board, even if they turned down the in-depth screening for religious reasons.

The Electronic Privacy Information Center is among several civil liberties groups suing the TSA in federal court to stop use of the full-body scanners. Their lawsuit says the machines are overly intrusive and violate civil rights, and that it is questionable whether they can detect powdered explosives such as those used by a passenger in last year's attempted Christmas airliner bombing. They also question whether the machines pose a health risk.

Several senators asked Pistole to address public criticism of the body-imaging machines and more intrusive pat-downs the agency is using. Pistole said the tougher screening is necessary, and that the FDA has found the imaging machines to be safe. Going through the whole-body scanning machine is similar to getting about three minutes of the radiation that passengers receive at 30,000 feet on a typical flight, he said.

There is special requirement by CAIR for female Muslim travelers. TSA have different pat-down procedure for them. These preferential treatment is call discrimination for non-Muslims. Since CAIR has an immense strings to change TSA method of screening, it seems hypocritical for TSA to give rigorous pat-downs on nuns, the physically handicap, children, and the elderly.

The TSA director is an idiot to think we are only concern about exposure to radiation during a full body scan. Besides radiation, there are scruplous TSA employees who have abused their authority on behalf of the passenger. That is what people fear the most. We have seen reports in the news showing the shennanigans of TSA employees and body scanners. As stated, this intrusive pat-down procedure violates our priavcy rights and the 4th Amendment.

TSA Will Put Their Hand Down Your Pants

(Prison Planet.com) The TSA’s invasive new screening measures include officers literally putting their hands down people’s pants if they are wearing baggy clothing in a shocking new elevation of groping procedures that have stoked a nationwide revolt against privacy-busting airport security measures.

If this is not an obvious violation of privacy rights, I don't know what is. If a TSA put their hand down your pants and feel your "junk", you have the right of slugging them square on the mouth. Just say the TSA employee squeeze your testicles or they rubbed the clitoris. I can see trial lawyers salivating over potential law suits against TSA.

Get Rid of the Transportation Security Administration (TSA)

(Forbes) In the spirit of bipartisanship and sanity, I propose that the first thing on the chopping block should be an ineffective organization that wastes money, violates our rights, and encourages us to make decisions that imperil our safety. I’m talking about the Transportation Security Administration.

The odds of dying from a terrorist attack are much lower than the odds of dying from doing any of a number of incredibly mundane things we do every day. You are almost certainly more likely to die or be injured driving to the airport than you are to be injured by a terrorist once you’re in the air, even without a TSA.

The airlines have enormous sums of money riding on passenger safety, and the notion that a government bureaucracy has better incentives to provide safe travels than airlines with billions of dollars worth of capital and goodwill on the line strains credibility.

And finally, most screening devices are ineffective because anyone who is serious about getting contraband on an airplane can smuggle it in a body cavity or a surgical implant. The scanners the TSA uses aren’t going to stop them.

What Really Occurs If You Refuse a Pat-Down from TSA

Whether federal officials threaten to arrest you or bring a civil suit against you, do not back down from the interrogating tactics by TSA. Allowing these intrusive pat-downs to continue, our civil liberties are being violated. This blog is from someone documenting events during a pat-down fiasco at the San Diego International Airport. It is important to learn from it because you may encounter it one day. Knowledge is power! End the stupid pat-downs by saying your Muslim and it is against the teachings of the Koran. Tell them you will call CAIR and every Muslim organization for your defense. If that doesn't work, during the pat-down, I suggest to scream and moan in ecstasy to embarrass the TSA employee. If they are trying to humiliate you, it is best to bring them along for the enjoyment!

Don't Let TSA Touch Your Crotch or Your Breast

(Chicago Tribune) When it comes to protecting against terrorism, this is how things usually go: A danger presents itself; the federal government responds with new rules that erode privacy, treat innocent people as suspicious and blur the distinction between life in a free society and life in a correctional facility; and we all tamely accept the new intrusions, like sheep being shorn.

The war on terrorism is going to get personal. Very personal. Americans have long resented the hassles that go with air travel ever since 9/11 — long security lines, limits on liquids, forced removal of footwear and so on. But if the Transportation Security Administration has its way, we will look back to 2009 as the good old days.

The agency is rolling out new full-body scanners, which eventually will replace metal detectors at all checkpoints. These machines replicate the experience of taking off your clothes, but without the fun. They enable agents to get a view of your body that leaves nothing to the imagination.

The new policy is being challenged in court by the Electronic Privacy Information Center, which says it violates the Fourth Amendment's ban on unreasonable searches. But don't expect judges to save us. Says Stanford University law professor Robert Weisberg, with resignation in his voice, "Airports are pretty much a Fourth Amendment-free zone."

The federal Government Accountability Office has said it "remains unclear" if the scanners would have detected the explosives carried by the would-be Christmas Day bomber.

They would also be useless against a terrorist who inserts a bomb in his rectum — like the al-Qaida operative who blew himself up last year in an attempt to kill a Saudi prince. Full-body scanning will sorely chafe many innocent travelers, while creating only a minor inconvenience to bloodthirsty fanatics.

Liberals really don't care to find out if there is a limit to the sacrifices of personal freedom in the name of fighting terrorism. They understand the harm to privacy is certain, but the benefit to public safety is not. But once we disregard the Constitution, we are no longer Americans. Liberal extremism leads toward a Marxist Regime.

Obama Ordered Body Scanners to Screen Passenger

The terrorist may have won the war giving Liberals a chance to take away a piece of our freedom and personal rights. Whether they overregulate our lives or violate our freedom, Liberals believe in sacrificing some liberty for some security. In regards to body scanners and pat-downs, it is a direct violation of the Fourth-Amendment, which states:

the right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.

If this country is founded by the Constitution, the American people expect it to be followed. If by the court of law we are innocent untill proven guilty, we shouldn't be sujected to pat-down or body scanner. If we follow rule of law in Europe, the government would reverse the burden of proof so that we have to prove our innocence. If that is the nature, we might as well give up on the Constitution altogether and be a Marxist state.

Because of the "underwear" bomber and "shoe" bomber were able to board a plane, Liberals went into panic mode. Using irrational logic, Obama ordered the Homeland Security Director Janet Napolitano to acquire body scanners to screen passengers. Honestly, I'm certain Obama deliberately used the terrorist plot as an excuse to take away our basic rights that are endowed by the Creator.
