Iranians Starting an Uprising and Many Wonder if Obama Will Help

In 2009, Iranians held massive protest after Ahmadinejad was re-elected as president. The Iranian people are saying that the hardliner was re-elected due to massive vote rigging in June 2009. At that time, Obama didn't do anything about it. Obama allowed Ahadinejad to imprison and punish the dissidents on the streets. Since Egyptian leader Mubarak was ousted from power, Obama gave full support and incited the Egyptian people to not back down. After the aftermath, there has been a domino effect throughout the Middle East with a revolution for democracy or "mob rule." In Iran, there are thousands of protester congregating in Tehran mimicking an Egyptian protest. Many are wondering if Obama will support the Iranian people as he did with the Egyptian people. Also, many Iranian are frightened that Obama will turn a blind eye and allow Ahmadinejad to commit a human right's atrocity by imprisoning and killing dissidents like the Iranian president did in 2009.

(Breitbart) Riot police on Monday fired tear gas and shot paintballs at protesters who turned what they said was a Tehran rally in support of Arab uprisings into an anti-government demonstration, witnesses said.

The clashes broke out at Tehran's prominent Azadi (Freedom) Square when crowds of opposition supporters began chanting "Death to Dictator!" -- a slogan used by protesters against President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad after the disputed 2009 presidential election.

Witnesses said police fired tear gas and also shot paintballs at protesters who had gathered despite a ban by authorities.

Websites and witnesses said thousands of opposition supporters had taken to the streets of the capital in support of Arab revolts despite a heavy police deployment.

While Iran has backed the Arab uprisings in Tunisia and Egypt, the interior ministry in Tehran banned the Monday rally which Mousavi and fellow opposition leader Mehdi Karroubi had sought to hold.

Witnesses and websites said the opposition supporters had walked in scattered crowds silently to Azadi Square from several parts of the capital as policemen kept a sharp watch and tried dispersing them.

Riot police on motorbikes armed with shotguns, tear gas, batons, paintball guns and fire extinguishers were deployed in key squares in the capital to prevent the gatherings

Congressman Lt. Col. Allen West Brings Similarity Between the Iran Hostage Crisis in 1979 and the Egypt Crisis

It is 1979 all over again. The parallel is uncanny. Congressman Lt. Col. Allen West(R-Fl) said at a rowdy town hall meeting,

“President Carter, President Obama, Iran, Egypt, the Shah, Mubarak, the Ayatollah, the Muslim Brotherhood. It is a scary parallel. We cannot allow the Muslim Brotherhood to fill the void of leadership that can occur in Egypt.”

The new Republican congressman was straight forward commenting on the political crisis in Egypt. Congressman West was drawing parallels between the chaos in Egypt and the 1979 revolution in Iran. Congressman Lt. Col. West said the U.S. must stop the Muslim Brotherhood from seizing power.

Not many people are aware what happened during the Iran Hostage Crisis in 1979. This is a very short summary. During that time, Democrat President Jimmy Carter abandoned the Shah of Iran, who was a friend to the United States. Once after the Shah of Iran was dethroned, the United States supported the new leader of Iran, who was a radical religious leader named Ayatolla Khomeini. As it turns out, students of this radical leader stormed the US Embassy in Iran and kept 52 American hostages for 444 days. It was believed that Iran wanted demands from the United States. This parallels closely to what we are seeing in Egypt today. The Muslims are trying to dethrone President Mubarak with the help of Obama. The radical Muslim Brotherhood is waiting to put their own radical leaders in power and make Egypt into a radical Islamic state. The prize is putting a radical state closer to Palestine to end the existence of Israel.

Like the old adage, "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it."

Jimmy Carter Says Biggest Failure was Allowing the American Hostages in Iran Remain Captive for 444 Days

Finally, Jimmy Carter realize that doing nothing to release the American hostages in Iran and allowing them to be kept captive for 444 days would piss the American people at the voting booth. Besides, he was also responsible for high taxes, stagflation, and severe gas shortage.

(Politico)- Former President Jimmy Carter says his biggest failure during his term in the White House was that he didn’t get to spend another four years there.

“I guess my biggest failure was not getting reelected,” he said in an interview with Big Think, referring to the 1980 presidential election.

Carter, 86, said the loss taught him “not to ever let American hostages be held for 444 days in a foreign country without extracting them.” He added, “I did the best I could, but I failed.”

Sen. Ted Kennedy (D-Mass.) challenged Carter in the Democratic primaries “and then that cost me a lot of votes,” the former president said.

“I should have paid more attention to the organization of the Democratic Party,” Carter said. “I was not only the leader of our nation, but I was also the leader of the Democratic Party. And I think I failed in that respect to keep the party united.”

Obama Fat Lip and Stitches will not Intimidate North Korea, Iran, or Russia

If a scar is going to intimidate Kim Jong Il, Ahmadinejad or Putin, Obama is going to receive a rude awakening. A baby battle scar will not phase harden leaders from countries like North Korea, Iran, and Russia. Such idea is absolutely idiotic!

(NPR) Just three weeks after getting a shellacking in the midterm elections, President Obama got a fat lip.

The president played basketball yesterday with some friends in the gym of the Fort McNair Army Base, and reportedly took an elbow in the mouth from an opposing player who went up for a shot.

It took 12 stitches to close The First Fat Lip, if you please. I’m not sure that Joe Frazier needed 12 stitches after the Thrilla in Manila, though the White House stressed that a smaller filament was used, which increases the number of stitches, but leaves a smaller scar.

I wonder if having a larger scar wouldn’t actually fortify President Obama’s profile, as he contends with Kim Jong Il, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad or Vladimir Putin. Imagine a president with a gnarly, vivid scar telling the rulers of China, “Nice country ya’ got here. I’d hate to see something happen to it if you didn’t stop foolin’ around with the value of your currency. Know what I mean?”

As recent presidential injuries go, President Obama’s is almost valiant. His immediate predecessor, President George W. Bush, famously choked on a pretzel. President Bill Clinton tore a tendon stumbling on the steps of Greg Norman’s house after a round of golf.

But an elbow in the chops is a battle ribbon in basketball. Mediocre players don’t have to worry about their dental work. An elbow is given to aggressive players who swing their own sharp limbs to grab a ball or push off a defender, although the White House stressed that the president was elbowed inadvertently.

Iran's Parliament Planned to Impeach President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad

(WSJ.com)Iran's parliament announced plans to impeach President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. They accused the Ahmadinejad government of 14 counts of violating the law. Most of the offense is acting without the approval of the legislature. Charges include illegally importing gasoline and oil, failing to provide budgetary transparency and withdrawing millions of dollars from Iran's foreign reserve fund without getting parliament's approval.

At first, I thought the article was referring to the United States.
