Perhaps these would assuage any guilt one might have associated with buying the real thing. They were all for sale at Skinner, Massachusetts, MA and sold for a tidy sum. They are Wedgwood English bone china c.1895.

Reputation well-earned

This post from Willowbrook Park seemed particularly relevant to an auction to be held on Saturday by Skinner of Massachusets.
It reminds one that Wedgwood is not only blue and white, which Willowbrook explains in his brief history of the company. Without wanting to diminish the very likely elegant outcome of the card room he is creating, I am personally very drawn to the black basalt pieces, with their gilt relief. But the impact of a room of too much black and gold might be a bit too sombre.
Or too regal.
Or too regal.
But perhaps the latter is not possible.
