The actress and Shedding for the Wedding host tells PEOPLE her May nuptials to teacher Kevin Price will be all about the "birds and the bees."
"It's sort of hummingbirds and butterflies for our overall look," she told PEOPLE Tuesday at Good Housekeeping's "Shine On" event at New York's Radio City Music Hall. "I have these beautiful brooches that are all butterflies, and I think it would be nice to tie in something for the cocktail hour."
The little creatures, she says, will play a meaningful role for her at her wedding.
"Honestly, I'm not a big person in terms of religion, but I really believe in nature," Rue, 32, says. "I feel like anytime you see anything beautiful in nature that's the closest I'm ever going to get to God or a sense of a higher power."
"So," she continues, "hummingbirds and butterflies to me represent an 'everything is right in the world' kind of feeling, and that's what I wanted on my wedding day."
With the days ticking by, Rue, 32, admits to being "disorganized," but also says, "We have the important things done. I have my dress [and] we just hired a deejay. So, we're getting there, and now it's just the little things that are the most fun, like I want to try to find butterfly straws for the happy hour."
Rue, who recently dropped four dress sizes, reveals she's wearing an Amsale wedding dress ? and, she says, there will be no stressing about her weight.
"I'm not being crazy, but I'm also not being totally regimented and strict, because I want to enjoy this time with my fianc," she says.
