Some of fashion's most important movers and shakers make their living on the big screen and on Tuesday actors and actresses honored the people that make them look so good on camera at the 2011 Costume Designers Guild Awards.

"Modern Family"'s Sarah Hyland wore a WTB (White Trash Beautiful) gown and presented the award for Outstanding Period/Fantasy Series. The young star told ET that in her experience clothing really "makes a character."

Although Hyland has developed an appreciation for fashion and those responsible for industry trends, she doesn't seem to have been affected in her life off-screen.

"My personal style is comfort," said Hyland, sharing that she usually opts for sweatpants.

The award show honors those responsible for the wardrobe seen in television, film and commercials, so ET also spoke with "the man your man could smell like," Old Spice spokesman Isaiah Mustafa.

Mustafa hinted that he may have felt out of place at the event admitting, "My only costume is a towel." The actor then went on to suggest that perhaps he owes more to costume designers than one would think, saying, "I guess without that I wouldn't be on TV."

Kristin Davis hosted the award show and she admitted that she was nervous.

"I don't normally host," said Davis. "I think that once I get over my introduction that I'll be OK."

Davis had kind words to say about Halle Berry who was honored with the Lacoste Spotlight Award, which she received while draped in a red Elie Saab gown.

"Halle is a genius in so many ways, and she's so generous as a human being," said Davis who wore Oscar de la Renta.

Speaking of Oscars, Sarah Hyland revealed that she wasn't planning on attending any parties associated with the upcoming award show, then joked that she could show up as Mila Kunis, acknowledging her striking resemblance to the 'Black Swan' actress.
