Work with me on this one. I'm not loving much about this room, (hate the armchairs, lamps etc), but I think its only redeeming feature is the scenic wall painting. In the post on blue and white trompe l'oeil I agreed with one commentator that it was perhaps too much, and quite often I feel that about wallpaper.
But when it's used in limited quantities, and such as here and in this scenic style painting from a photograph, it can have a pleasing effect. This is especially so when it creates a story in the room, (and dare one say it, draws the eye away from the Victorian - read hideous - armchairs).
I'll be generous too and say at least the sepia colour tones work well together.
