Life scented

If I read another piece of blurb on a hotel website about scented candles, (and why that should enhance my experience at staying at the establishment), I think I will gag.

What is it with scented candles? They're nice enough, and indeed I have sung the praises of Shanghai Tang's ginger flower, but it's like saying they have scented soap, as if that should be a selling point.

Unfortunately in a lot of countries the quality of hotels is lamentable, with an inverse proportion to price. The big European cities are particularly bad. Luckily in Asia 5 star means 5 star, and the levels of service would be very hard to beat.
