I find myself being drawn towards these colour combinations - pastel purples, mauves, with whites or creams. I particularly like this Empire-style chair, with its Scandinavian (Gustavian) colourings; further Empire-effects appear to be repeated in the picture above the neoclassical chimneypiece, which at first glance has an Egyptian feel; but if you look a bit more closely, it's actually very quirky indeed. But it's the distressed wooden chair that caught my eye in this tear out; it too feels as though it would not be out of place in an Egyptian palace. Well, I think so anyway.
