I am a great believer in the school of good presentation of objets and artifacts. Whether they are important antiques, pictures, or simply pieces that are quite inexpensive, the whole concept of them is viewed differently if they are well presented. The obvious examples are the smaller pieces of bric-a-brac, which need a good stand to make them literally stand out. Sometimes the "stage" or staging costs more than the piece itself, but the net result is that both look that much more noticeable, and that much more "important". This is a very simple design technique, but one that can change the ordinary in to extraordinary.
