Obama in 2002, Toppling Brutal Dictator a Dumb War

Obama is a blatant hypocrite. The war in Libya is a "dumb war," Mr. President. Like it or not, Obama had a foot in mouth moment. It is ironic how Obama calls the Iraq War dumb; while his Libya war necessary. I guess Obama calling it a kinetic military action makes it a big difference to the Iraq war! Idiot!!!

(CNSNews.com) – President Barack Obama, as an Illinois state senator in 2002, said that using military force to topple a murderous dictator amounted to a “dumb war” and should be opposed.

The “dumb war” Obama was criticizing was the planned invasion of Iraq and the murderous dictator was its leader, Saddam Hussein. Obama, speaking at an anti-war rally in Chicago on Oct. 2, 2002 said that while Saddam was a brutal tyrant, that was not enough to justify using military force to remove him from power.

“Now, let me be clear – I suffer no illusions about Saddam Hussein,” said Obama in his speech. “He is a brutal man. A ruthless man. A man who butchers his own people to secure his own power. He has repeatedly defied U.N. resolutions, thwarted U.N. inspection teams, developed chemical and biological weapons, and coveted nuclear capacity. He's a bad guy. The world, and the Iraqi people, would be better off without him.”

"... After September 11th, after witnessing the carnage and destruction, the dust and the tears, I supported this administration's pledge to hunt down and root out those who would slaughter innocents in the name of intolerance, and I would willingly take up arms myself to prevent such tragedy from happening again," said Obama. "I don't oppose all wars. ... What I am opposed to is a dumb war. What I am opposed to is a rash war. What I am opposed to is the cynical attempt by Richard Perle and Paul Wolfowitz and other armchair, weekend warriors in this administration to shove their own ideological agendas down our throats, irrespective of the costs in lives lost and in hardships borne."

Obama argued that deposing Saddam militarily was not necessary, because Iraq posed no “direct threat” to the United States. Obama also cited Iraq’s weakened economy and the fact that it was still possible to contain Saddam’s aggression, repudiating the Bush administration’s rationale that Saddam posed too great a threat to American interests and his own people to be left in power.

However, as president of the United States, Obama has discounted those same arguments he once made against using military force against brutal dictators.

Obama 2007, President Does Not Have Power Under Constitution to Unilaterally Authorize a Military Attack

Being a true liberal, Obama will quote sentences from the Constitution, but legislate his own views when a certain situation arises. This is the purest form of hypocrisy. Obama is unable to walk the walk and talk the talk. Obama has to be impeached.

(CNSNews.com) - As a presidential candidate, Sen. Barack Obama (D.-Ill.) emphatically stated that the Constitution does not give the president the authority to unilaterally authorize a military attack unless it is needed to stop an actual or imminent attack on the United States.

Obama made the assertion in a Dec. 20, 2007 interview with the Boston Globe when reporter Charlie Savage asked him under what circumstances the president would have the constitutional authority to bomb Iran without first seeking authorization from Congress.

“The President does not have power under the Constitution to unilaterally authorize a military attack in a situation that does not involve stopping an actual or imminent threat to the nation,” Obama responded.

Obama did not seek congressional authorization before joining allies, including Great Britain and France, in taking military action against the regime of Libyan dictator Col. Moammar Gadhafi in order to establish a no-fly zone over that country. The action was approved by the United Nations Security Council but not by the U.S. Congress.

Obama Says Tea Party Is Racist

Obama is a hypocrite. Obama and Democrats always use class warfare to pit envy and denigrate a class or race over another. I thought Obama was suppose to be a "uniter", but instead, he is a divider.

In May 2010, he told guests at a private White House dinner that race was probably a key component in the rising opposition to his presidency from conservatives, especially right-wing activists in the anti-incumbent "Tea Party" movement that was then surging across the country. Many middle-class and working-class whites felt aggrieved and resentful that the federal government was helping other groups, including bankers, automakers, irresponsible people who had defaulted on their mortgages, and the poor, but wasn't helping them nearly enough, he said.

A guest suggested that when Tea Party activists said they wanted to "take back" their country, their real motivation was to stir up anger and anxiety at having a black president, and Obama didn't dispute the idea. He agreed that there was a "subterranean agenda" in the anti-Obama movement-a racially biased one-that was unfortunate. But he sadly conceded that there was little he could do about it.

Obama Tells America to Make Sacrifices While the Michelle and Kids Go on Vacation

This is a blatant hypocrisy. While Obama tells us to "put off a vacation" and make sacrifices, Michelle Obama takes kids to an expensive ski trip. The more important question is "who is watching Barack while the family is out?"

First Lady Michelle Obama and daughters Malia and Sasha are on a ‘private family trip’ to Colorado for Presidents’ Day Weekend.

Mrs Obama and Sasha, nine, were pictured waiting in line at the Eagle Bahn gondola to the top of the mountain today.

The First Lady’s cream ski jacket was open, perhaps indicating that temperatures are not as bitter as they are in other parts of the country.

A light snow appeared to be falling on Mrs Obama and her daughter, who herself was clad in fluorescent pink snowboarding pants and a sky blue puff jacket.

Both wore gloves and hats. They were not carrying skis.

The family appear to have flown there on Air Force Two.

They are staying at the upscale Sebastian Hotel on Vail Mountain, where rooms start at $650 a night and range up to more than $2,400 for multi-bedroom suites.

The trip came just days after the President tried to sell his cost-cutting budget to the American people by asking them to stay at home.

‘If you’re a family trying to cut back, you might skip going out to dinner, or you might put off a vacation,’ he said.

While Mr Obama is staying put at the White House, the rest of his family headed to Colorado – rather than visiting slopes closer to Washington in Virginia or Pennsylvania.

Their trip came despite previous criticisms over the family’s extravagant vacations, including a trip last summer to Spain.

According to Americans for Tax Reform (ATR), President Obama has signed into law at least two dozen tax increases. In chronological order:

Feb. 4, 2009 – Obama signs federal tobacco tax hike: Just sixteen days into his presidency, Obama signed into law a 156 percent increase in the federal excise tax on tobacco – a hike of 62 cents per pack. Obama’s signature on this tax hike was a violation of his central campaign promise – a “firm pledge” that no American making less than $250,000 would see “any form of tax increase”. The median income
of smokers is just over $36,000.

March 23, 2010 – Obama signs the healthcare bill into law: Obama’s signature on the health care bill enacted two dozen new or higher taxes (at least seven of which violate his “firm pledge” on taxes), including but not limited to:

Now let’s turn to the second part of Obama’s claim: “I lowered taxes over the last two years. I lowered taxes for the last two years.”

• President Obama’s entire claim of being a net tax-cutter rests merely upon the temporary tax relief he has signed into law. The tax increases Obama has signed into law have invariably been permanent. In fact, Obama signed into law $7 in permanent tax hikes for every $1 in permanent tax cuts

• Over 90% of the dollar value of the tax cuts Obama signed into law are only temporary

• 100% of the tax increases Obama signed into law are, however, permanent

• Permanent changes to tax law signed by Obama amount to a net tax hike of $618.7 billion

Obama Gives a State Dinner to China President but Shows the Dalai Lama the Service Entrance

The Chinese president Hu Jintao is in town to meet with Obama. The state dinner was a traditional fanfare and it was very lavished. Since the Chinese president was received with the customary Obama bow and appeasement, it differs the type of reception Obama gave to the Dalai Lama. In order to appease the China government, Obama must show favor by displaying the utmost disrespect to the Dalai Lama. The leader of the free world intentionally deferred meeting after meeting with spiritual leader of Tibet. Finally, when Obama met with the Dalai Lama in February 2009, he showed the Dalai Lama out via the service entrance. It isn't very dignified to see the Dalai Lama pass by a pile of trash to meet with reporters.

Obama Hypocrisy or Flip Flop on Raising the Debt Limit

According to many Liberal pundits, only an idiot would vote against raising the debt ceiling. I guess that explains why Obama voted against raising the debt limit in 2006 when he had this to say:

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America's debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can't pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government's reckless fiscal policies. … Increasing America's debt weakens us domestically and internationally. Leadership means that ‘the buck stops here. Instead, Washington is shifting the burden of bad choices today onto the backs of our children and
grandchildren. America has a debt problem and a failure of leadership. Americans deserve better."

Either we wait now or later, America will go bankrupt if the problem is not fixed immediately. No need to raise the debt limit. By cutting spending (or eliminate wasteful programs) on federal programs that can be done at the state level(Medicaid, Depts. of Agriculture, Interior, Education, Energy, HHS), it will free up more resources to pay our obligations.

The TEA Party movement and many Americans are fed up with inside-the-Beltway machinations: America is Bankrupt in all-but name. Liberal, RHINOS, and the ignorant few need to get over that simple fact, and realize that the longer we postpone the Day of Reckoning, the more painful it will be. Also, it may not be at a time of our choosing. Just look at the mess created when Fannie & Freddie problems were repeatedly kicked down the road. That eventually led to the Day of Reckoning two years ago. Of course, it was not the date of President Bush's or the GOP's choosing.

Obama will be looking for a $300 billion increase in the $14.1 Trillion debt ceiling. What if the House passes a bill offering $300 billion (or even a lesser amount, say $100 billion) in spending cuts in March, instead, daring the President to veto it?

Or, what if the House offers to raise the debt ceiling; but attach to it repeal of ObamaCare, which the CBO has now scored as costing many tens, maybe hundreds of billions of dollars, as opposed to PAYGO?

It's a Game of Chicken between the House and White House, with the Senate as the wild card.
