(WND) It could be a game-changer.

A plan in Arizona to require presidential candidates to prove their eligibility to occupy the Oval Office is approaching critical mass, even though it has just been introduced.

The proposal from state Rep. Judy Burges, who carried a similar plan that fell short last year only because of political maneuvering, was introduced yesterday with 16 members of the state Senate as co-sponsors.

It needs only 16 votes in the Senate to pass.

AZ Pima County Sheriff Dept Say They Visited Loughners Home Even Before the Shooting

The Pima County Sheriff has a liberal agenda. It is already known Sheriff Dupnik doesn't support the Arizona Immigration Law, and expressed that he will not enforce it. Now, the Pima County Sheriff is finding any media outlet willing to let him rant about his liberal views. Instead of focusing on the investigation, he is getting in his 15 minutes of fame. It is absolutely harmful to the investigation by adding a biased factor in the equation. A CBS poll showed that over 60% of American feel that there is no political motive with Jared Louughner and the congresswoman. Jared was a demented soul with a troubled pass. The blame should be put upon the Sheriff of Pima County because he could have avert the situation. He knew of the kid before the assassination attempt took place.

(NY Times) — The police were sent to the home where Jared L. Loughner lived with his family on more than one occasion before the attack here on Saturday that left a congresswoman fighting for her life and six others dead, the Pima County Sheriff’s Department said on Tuesday.
A spokesman, Jason Ogan, said the details of the calls were being reviewed by legal counsel and would be released as soon as the review was complete. He said he did not know what the calls were about — they could possibly have been minor, even trivial matters — or whether they involved Jared Loughner or another member of the household.

A friend of Mr. Loughner’s also said in an interview on Tuesday that Mr. Loughner, 22, was skilled with a gun — as early as high school — and had talked about a philosophy of fostering chaos.

The news of police involvement with the Loughners suggests that county sheriff’s deputies were at least familiar with the family, even if the reason for their visits was unclear as of Tuesday night.

Well it didn't take long for the gun control freaks to come out from the woodwork. To never allow a crisis go to waste, Liberals are using the Arizona massacre to support their own personal agenda. It is horrific and disingenuous. I don't ever recall a law abiding citizen with a conceal gun permit killing an innocent person. If Congresswoman McCarthy's husband had a gun on him, he would be alive today. Gun control will only prevent normal citizens to purchase a gun. It will not stop the bad guys from getting it.

(Politico) – One of the fiercest gun-control advocates in Congress, Rep. Carolyn McCarthy (D-N.Y.), pounced on the shooting massacre in Tucson Sunday, promising to introduce legislation as soon as Monday.

McCarthy ran for Congress after her husband was gunned down and her son seriously injured in a shooting in 1993 on a Long Island commuter train.

“My staff is working on looking at the different legislation fixes that we might be able to do and we might be able to introduce as early as tomorrow,” McCarthy told POLITICO in a Sunday afternoon phone interview.

Gun control activists cried it was time to reform weapons laws in the United States, almost immediately after a gunman killed six and injured 14 more, including Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, in Arizona on Saturday.

Arizona Assassin Who Shot Congresswoman Giffords Obsessed With Mind Control

A federal judge was killed and a congresswoman gravely wounded Saturday in a shooting outside of a Tucson, Arizona, grocery store, Safeway.

In all, six people died and 12 were wounded in the shooting, including U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, D-Arizona, who is currently stable after surgery, and a 9 year old child.

President Barack Obama later said Chief Judge John Roll of the U.S. District Court for Arizona was among the dead.

(Prison Planet) Jared Loughner, the gunman who shot Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords and numerous other victims including a Federal Judge and a nine-year-old girl during a political event in Tucson today, was a US military recruit who was obsessed with mind control, mirroring the circumstances of many other mass shooters in history.

Loughner’s You Tube channel contains several rambling text-based videos which discuss his fascination with mind control.

The fact that Loughner was part of the US military and yet is being characterized as an anti-government conspiracy nutcase by the establishment media is a complete contradiction. Loughner’s multitude of viewpoints seem to transcend political classification. Watching his You Tube videos, he is clearly a schizophrenic who is obsessed with mind control and other bizarre leftfield issues of minutia.

Loughner’s vulnerable and psychotic profile, combined with his interest in mind control, mirrors other famous assassins such as Mark David Chapman, John Hinckley, as well as Columbine killers Harris & Klebold.

Arizona Sheriff Authorizes Deadly Force on Drug Smugglers

PINAL COUNTY, Ariz. (KGUN9-TV) – Sheriff Paul Babeu has announced he plans to use deadly force, if necessary, to drive smugglers and border bandits out of his part of the desert.

The Pinal County Sheriff’s Office has recently been in the spotlight for sniffing out smugglers and their drug loads. Sheriff Babeu told KGUN9 News he’s about to go on the offensive with a massive show of force to stop smugglers and bandits.

“We’re sending out three different teams of eight to fifteen deputies in each that are heavily armed, even with sniper teams, out to the desert at all hours of the day and night,” Babeu said.
Typically, deputies would sneak up on smugglers before arresting them, but Babeu says not this time.

“We’re going to wait until these cartel members come on through and we’re going to announce ourselves in Spanish in this known drug smuggling corridor. That this is the Sheriff, drop your weapons, you’re under arrest,” Babeu said.

In the week following the shooting death of a Border Patrol agent, the Sheriff admits the chances of having a gun fight in the desert are extremely high. After all, it’s the same desert where one of his deputies was shot and where they’ve seized thousands of pounds of drugs. Babeu says deadly force will be used if his deputies confront dangerous cartels.

“I’ve given specific instruction, no less than lethal force is going to be used. It’s all lethal force only and we go into that environment knowing that we’re likely expecting an armed threat from these people,” Babeu said.
