Alec Baldwin advises Sheen: 'You can't win'

One week after Charlie Sheen was fired from "Two and a Half Men," "30 Rock's" Alec Baldwin has a few words of advice for the unemployed actor.

"Take a nap. Get a shower. Call Chuck [Lorre]. Go on Letterman and make an apology. Write a huge check to the B'Nai Brith. And then beg for your job back. Your fans demand it," Baldwin, 52, wrote in a Huffington Post editorial published Friday.

"You can't win. Really. You can't," argues Baldwin, who says that network executives subscribe to the notion that "no actor is greater than the show itself when the show is a hit." Fired from the series March 7, Sheen announced plans for a $100 million lawsuit against Warner Bros. Televison and "Two and a Half Men" creator Lorre, demanding to be compensated for the eight cancelled episodes from the current season.

At the end of his Huffington Post piece, Baldwin ? who plays TV exec Jack Donaghy on NBC's "30 Rock" ? offered some succinct advice for Sheen.

"Sober up, Charlie. And get back on TV, if it's not too late," Baldwin wrote. "This is America. You want to really piss off Chuck and Warner Brothers and CBS? Beg for America's forgiveness. They will give it to you. And then go back."

And referencing Sheen's accusation that his "Two and a Half Men" costar Jon Cryer was a "troll" for not publicly lending his support, Baldwin offered a simple post script: "Buy Cryer a really nice car."
