Cutting edge design

David Mellor, who was especially known for his cutlery design, has died aged 79. For those who know London, his shop on the corner of Sloane Square was always a delight, but I never realised the extent of his talents, until I read his obituary here.

I think these lines from that speak volumes: Sadly, the final years of his life were curtailed by dementia which did not, however, prevent him noticing, at times, in hospitals and care homes, when his surroundings fell short of his high visual standards.
